Bumpdate - Week 6

How far along? 6 Weeks

Baby is the size of?
A Lentil Bean

Total weight loss/gain? Gained 3 pounds (weighed in after breakfast).

Maternity Clothes? No

Stretch Marks? No

Sleep? So far so good

Best moment of this week? Making my first pre-natal appointment for October 18th.  Talking to the nurse and her telling me my scheduled C-section would be for 39 weeks.  Definitely makes it a little easier knowing I will know when I will have the baby and not like the waiting game with Harrison.  Lots of prayers we make it to 39 weeks!

Worst moment of this week?  Having to wait an extra week for my 8 week visit due to scheduling conflicts.  (This exact thing happened with Harrison, I didn't have my first one until 9 weeks.)

Miss Anything? Not yet

Movement? No, still too soon for this.

Food Cravings? Really nothing yet.  No fun, I know!

Anything make you queasy or sick? A couple things make me gag but no vomiting yet.

Symptoms? Mild cramping and mild nausea when I am hungry.

Have you started to show yet?  To me I can tell, to others probably not.

I love the Clancy photo bomb.  He was always in every picture
when I documented my pregnancy with Harrison.

Gender Predictions? Chinese gender predictor predicted a girl and the predictor was right when I tried it when I was pregnant with Harrison.  We have not yet decided if we will find out the baby's gender before delivery.  I am leaning more towards not finding out, there is a level of fun and anticipation that adds to the delivery of the baby not only for us but for friends and family if the gender is a suprise.

Labor signs?  No and lets keep that off for as long as possible.

Belly Button in or out? In for sure

Exercise?  Nothing yet.  I am so afraid of Zika and mosquitoes that I try to stay in as much as possible, plus its still hot out.  Once it cools down we will be outside playing and walking all the time.  When I take Harrison to the park I wear long leggings and a shirt and cover with bug spray.

Happy or Moody most of the time? Pretty happy

Looking forward to?  Trip to North Carolina to visit friends this week and a trip to CT and Boston.  I may tell friends and family while there.  I would like to wait to tell everyone until after our first appointment but there is something amazing about telling everyone the good news in person.

Any irrational worries?  Zika, birth defects, lifting heavy objects, the list goes on and on.....

Cheers to the Weekend

Dear Second Baby,

I just wanted to check in with you today and say I was thinking about you.  I made my first-prenatal appointment today for October 18.  I can't wait to see you on the big screen and hear/see your heartbeat.

I have been really tired this week and actually took a short 15 minute nap today during Harrison's nap which I never do.  It felt good and I could have slept longer if Harrison hadn't of woken up so soon.

I also really feel like I am already showing, which is crazy but I have heard the second baby pops a lot faster, I just wasn't expecting it this soon.  My belly already almost has the turtle shape which I know I didn't have until MUCH later when I was pregnant with Harrison.

I kept thinking today how am I going to handle two kids at bath and bed time given we don't really have much help close by and Daddy works late some nights.  People make it work so I am sure we will too.  I will need lots of patience.

Harrison and Clancy are snuggling tight with Mommy here,
I think they both know you are in my belly!

I guess that's all for today.  So excited to see you in a few short weeks.

Love Mommy

Bumpdate - Week 5

How far along? 5 Weeks

Baby is the size of? A sesame seed. How is it possible that babies are ever this small?!

Total weight loss/gain? Gah!  I forgot to weigh myself.  I will do it first thing in the morning (I just set a reminder in my phone).

Maternity Clothes? Not yet but oddly kind of excited to pull them out again!

Stretch Marks? Nope

Sleep? Last night I had weird dreams and the night before I was restless and worried mosquitoes were going to bite me in my sleep.  Damn Zika!

Best moment of this week? Finding out we were pregnant.

Worst moment of this week? Realizing how long 40 weeks is.

Miss Anything? Not yet

Movement? No

Food Cravings? Nothing yet.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Just a little queasy when I am hungry but so far so good.  Hoping for no morning sickness with this baby as well.

Symptoms?  A little tired.

Have you started to show yet? No.

Gender Predictions?  I am not certain yet.  I don't have any feelings telling me which yet.

Labor signs? No

Belly Button in or out? In

Exercise? I want to be better about exercising with this baby.  Does chasing Harrison around count?

Happy or Moody most of the time?  Pretty happy.

Looking forward to?  Wearing my maternity clothes and starting to show.  I don't know why I am so excited about my maternity clothes considering with Harrison I couldn't wait to burn them in the backyard because I was so sick of wearing them!

Any irrational worries?  Zika, but I don't think that is irrational.  Worrying about eating right, drinking enough water, remembering to take my pre-natal vitamins.  I think this pregnancy is going to be a lot more fun and will be more relaxed since I already know what I am getting into!

We are Pregnant!

My Dearest Second Baby,

What an excited feeling this is to know that you are growing inside of me.  I just found out about you a couple of days ago.  I had a feeling so I drove to the grocery store to buy a test and sure enough I was right after I took two tests to confirm it.  I was definitely a little shocked followed by lots of excitement.  I am pretty sure Daddy felt those exact same emotions.   But once the initial shock was over we are both over the moon excited and ready for you!

I have to apologize in advance for when you are old enough and you ask why Harrison's blog has much more content in it, and to be perfectly honest I have very little free time right now to blog.  Your older brother Harrison keeps me pretty busy!  He is non-stop moving and playing.  But we sure do have fun and pretty soon you will be joining that fun!  And when he is sleeping I am usually working so my time to blog isn't as ample.  As busy as I am, I promise I will write to you and update you when I can and I hope its more often than not.

If I am correct, right now I am 4 weeks and 5 days pregnant and your due date is May 22, 2017.  I really want to try to make it a point to do the weekly bump-dates and I would like to do them on the week anniversary which would make that every Monday.  Pretty soon I will be calling my doctor to make my first pre-natal appointment and hopefully we get the all clear!  I can't wait to hear those words.

This was Clancy laying on my tummy this morning, he hasn't done this since I was pregnant with Harrison.  I think he already senses you in my tummy.  He was especially loving and clingy to me today as well.  You will love him just like Harrison does.

Me at 4.5 weeks.  It really looks like I am already showing but I had literally just eaten dinner and my body never fully recovered from after having Harrison.  Hopefully next week I will get a better picture.

So far I have been feeling good and very much looking forward to this pregnancy and hoping it will be relaxing.  I think this pregnancy will be different as I wont be dealing with stress from work and it will be somewhat acceptable to wear leggings and a long/big shirt pretty much every day (I am pretty excited about that part)!

I had to come back and edit this post to add this little bit of information that the feeling I had when I thought I might be pregnant was when I found a huge thing of Velveeta cheese in our pantry and started craving queso dip so I went to Publix to buy some Rotel and ate queso and tostitos all week.  I had a feeling I was pregnant because I craved queso dip my entire pregnancy with Harrison so that is what made me wonder. :)

Until we meet,

Love Mommy
