Bumpdate - 28 Weeks

How far along?  28 weeks.  We have entered the third tri-mester.

Baby is the size of? An eggplant.  Baby weights about 2 1/4 pounds and is almost 15 inches long.

Total weight loss/gain? I was 154 at the doctors today with shoes and clothes on so that would mean that I have gained 26 pounds since week 5.

Maternity Clothes?
Yes

Stretch Marks?
None so far.  Using coconut oil on my tummy everyday.

Sleep?
Tossing and turning a lot.  I sleep the most comfortable on the couch.

Best moment of this week?
Going for my check up today and doing the glucose screening.  I should get the glucose results in a week so pray for no gestational diabetes.  My exam was perfect, BP was good, iron was good, weight was good, heartbeat was strong and I was measuring one centimeter bigger than I should be.  I was measuring 29 instead of 28. :)  Made me feel much better since I was nervous that baby was originally measuring small in the ultrasounds.  Hopefully all those hard boiled eggs are paying off!

Worst moment of this week?
Just feeling really anxious because we have not really done much to prepare for the baby.  I feel like at this point with Harrison I was so close to being ready, with this one, I'm just kinda like "I got this".

Miss Anything?
Been missing my friends and family up north a lot lately.  Wishing I could plan one last trip up there before baby comes.

Movement?
Lots of movement.  I swear baby never sleeps!  Hopefully that means he/she will sleep when they come out. HA!

Food Cravings?
A jar of pickles somehow leaked in our fridge and I kept smelling the pickle smell and wanted pickles.

Anything make you queasy or sick?
  Eggs, smells from the kitchen.

Symptoms?
Heart burn, lots of kicks, tired, charlie horses in my calfs at night.  Gosh are those painful.

Have you started to show yet?
Oh yes, random people ask all the time when I am due, what we are having, etc.
Sorry for the overkill of pictures,
just figured I would provide some other angles today.

Gender Predictions?
Still have no clue.  Maybe a boy!?

Labor signs?
  Some Braxton hicks

Belly Button in or out?
In but looking a little strange.

Exercise?
Keeping up with Harrison

Happy or Moody most of the time?
Pretty happy.

Looking forward to?
Scheduling my C-section.  I figured we would talk about it today but the mid-wife I saw today said the doctors schedules weren't out yet for May.  I think I am going to try to call the office tomorrow to see if I can get someone else.

Any irrational worries?
Worried about recovery from the C-section and how I will handle Harrison jumping/climbing on me and wanting to be held while I am recovering and tending to the baby.

Nesting

Dear Second Baby,

Yesterday I got this overwhelming feeling of anxiety that the walls in the house were closing in on me.  The toys were taking over and I had no organization method and realized it was only going to get worse.  I just feel like we have no room in this house for everything we already have or still need.  I think I just needed to get out of the house for a little bit and clear my head so I took Harrison to the playground for about 2.5 hours and he loved it.  Some older kids were playing duck duck goose and Harrison tried to join in, he had no idea how to play but just ran around with his little ball and laughed.  An older dad said how adorable he was.

Daddy and Harrison started to put together Harrison's big boy bed today.  Dad took apart the crib and moved that out for now.  I organized all of Harrison's toys and packed some in plastic bins that he doesn't play with as much.  I will move them to his closet and rotate them out.  I want to buy another organizer unit like we have in Harrison's closet with all the baskets.  Harrison's room is usually the tidiest room in the house because we are adamant about putting the toys away everyday in their respective baskets so it must work!

Daddy didn't get very far on the bed this morning before he had to leave to go to a golf tournament with friends, apparently having a toddler pull all the pieces of the bed out and run his matchbox cars and trains over them repeatedly while singing "five trains jumping on a bed" (how ironic) makes things take a little longer.  I said to daddy that now he knows why I get nothing accomplished all day long.  Almost impossible with a toddler tornado around.

Anyways I just have this feeling to purge and organize so it must be the nesting taking place.  Our next house will have to have a play room above anything else, a place where I can put all the toys and shut the door when I don't want to see it.

You have been kicking a lot lately.  Harrison felt you kick last night with his hand, I'm not sure he really knew what was happening but he kept saying "Baby kicked me".  Tomorrow we will be 28 weeks and into the third tri-mester.  I also have my glucose test tomorrow which most pregnant women say is awful but I don't remember it being that bad when I did it with Harrison.  I think the worst is just waiting the hour after drinking the juice to have your blood drawn.

Harrison is taking a nap right now so I figured I had a few minutes to give you an update.  We are getting there.  11 weeks to go!!

Love you so much,

Love Mommy

Bumpdate - Week 27

How far along?  27 Weeks

Baby is the size of? A head of cauliflower - baby is about 2 pounds and 14.5 inches long

Total weight loss/gain?  Still need to get that battery replaced in the scale!

Maternity Clothes?  Oh yes, pretty much all I can wear.

Stretch Marks? Nothing yet

Sleep?  Nights are getting a little rough.  I actually took a nap today with Harrison for a little while and that felt great.  Probably why I am still wide awake right now at 12:15 AM.

Best moment of this week? Harrison becoming more aware of his baby brother or sister in Mommy's tummy.  Every time he sees a baby on TV or out and about he says "BABY, like in Mommy's tummy!".  He is very excited.

Worst moment of this week? Realizing we still have so much to do before the arrival of baby.  All of Harrison's new bed and bedding arrived and Harrison and I went out and picked up the last few odds and ends today.  Now we just have to put it together, then we can move the crib out.  We still need to find and order a new double stroller.  I have started doing a little research and hope to find one that our current infant carrier clips into and that HJ can also sit and stand.

Harrison was quite comfy in the cart while shopping for odds and ends for his new bed.
Everyone that passed us laughed and said how cute he was

Miss Anything?  Food and drink wise, not really.

Movement?  Lots of movement, this baby likes to dance!

Food Cravings?
Candy.  Trying to limit this especially since I have my glucose test on Monday.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Eggs is really the only thing at this point.  I now find it easier to hard boil them and eat them that way.

Symptoms?  Heartburn and it's getting harder and harder to walk around.  I vacuumed and mopped last night and felt like that about killed me.  I am thinking of maybe getting someone in here to deep clean before the baby comes.

Have you started to show yet?  Yes I have!

Harrison was trying to kiss the baby

Gender Predictions?  No prediction this week, honestly I am totally clueless!

Labor signs?  Nothing so far, lets keep it this way until day of scheduled C-section please.

Belly Button in or out?  In but getting smaller and smaller

Exercise?  Chasing Mr. Harrison, looking for rocks, climbing and chasing him around the play grounds.

Happy or Moody most of the time?  Still pretty happy.

Looking forward to?  28 week visit at doctor, hearing babies heart beat.  Entering the third tri-mester, time is flying by!!

Bumpdate - Week 26

How far along? 26 Weeks and 4 Days

Baby is the size of? A Scallion - Baby is about 14 inches long and about 1 and 2/3 pounds.  Still so tiny.

Total weight loss/gain?  No clue as we still need a new battery for our scale but I feel bigger this week.

Maternity Clothes? Yes, getting harder and harder to get dressed.  I like wearing my dresses but sometimes dresses are a little over dressy for taking and chasing a toddler around a playground.

Stretch Marks? None so far

Sleep?  Sleep is pretty good.  I have been falling asleep on the couch at night and seem to sleep much better than I do in bed.  I think its because of the back support of the couch.

Best moment of this week? Organizing the spare room and closet, getting ready for visitors and baby. Ordering Harrison a big boy twin bed and he picked out his own comforter set and sheets.  Of course he picked out the UGLIEST set with the brightest colors so I did what any good mom would do and chose his second favorite instead.  Trucks and trains.  Excited for it all to arrive and to set him up in his own new big boy twin bed.

Someone also asked Harrison what the babies name was going to be and he said "Diaper change".  We laughed so hard.  I think because one day I was talking to him about the baby and how he was going to be a good big brother and was going to need to help mommy with the baby and help do diaper changes.

Worst moment of this week?  Just feeling tired, Harrison pushing my buttons, not wanting to eat his dinner or get in his car seat when we are already running late.

Miss Anything?  Not really

Movement?  Lots of movement, baby kicks a lot at night and likes to kick Harrison when he is leaning up against my belly reading or snuggling.

Food Cravings?  Chocolate candies with peanut butter or caramel filling.

Anything make you queasy or sick?  I threw up my egg breakfast sandwich the other day when Harrison and I were eating.  Clancy was wondering why he didn't get my throw up covered scraps.

Symptoms?  Heartburn, Braxton hicks, peeing a lot.  No more pelvic pain or pressure.

Have you started to show yet?  Oh yes!

Gender Predictions?  This week I think a boy!

Labor signs?  I get some shooting pains every now and again but the doctor said those are normal.

Belly Button in or out?  In

Exercise?  Walking and chasing Harrison.  Took him to the town square last night to run and play and we walked around the lake and spotted a little gator in the lake.  He played with some kids and had so much fun and didn't want to leave.

Happy or Moody most of the time?  Pretty happy but sometimes overwhelmed.  Wish we had a bigger house with more bedrooms and a play room for all these toys!

Looking forward to?  Next week (well Monday since I am late with this post) I will be 27 weeks and that is the third tri-mester,  only 12 weeks to go.  OMG we are sooo not ready!

Any irrational worries? Pre-term delivery.  Baby not getting enough nutrients, not drinking enough water.

Bumpdate - Week 25

How far along?  25 Weeks

Baby is the size of? A rutabaga - sometimes I question the size chart I am using with their comparison to veggies.  Baby is about 1.5 pounds and 13.5 inches long.

Total weight loss/gain?
Our scale needs a new battery so I have not been able to weigh myself.

Maternity Clothes? Yes

Stretch Marks? Not yet

Sleep?  Getting a little uncomfortable

Best moment of this week?
Heading up to Orlando over the weekend for a bridal shower, seeing old friends and having them love on the baby bump.

Worst moment of this week?  Trying to potty train HJ before the new baby comes, some days were exhausting.  We started again today and so far he is doing great!

Miss Anything?
Not really

Movement?  Lots of movement.  Baby kicks a lot when there is music playing, loud voices, or noise.

Food Cravings?  Salads this week

Anything make you queasy or sick? Same stuff, certain smells and eggs.

Symptoms?  Still having heartburn, pelvic pain isn't as bad but hurts on some days.

Have you started to show yet?
Yes - I forgot to take a bare belly picture this week

Gender Predictions? A girl this week

Labor signs? Still some Braxton hicks every once in awhile

Belly Button in or out?  In but getting shorter

Exercise?  No true time set aside to exercise.

Happy or Moody most of the time?
  Pretty happy as always.
