Bumpdate - Week 23

How far along? 23 weeks and 3 days

Baby is the size of?  A large mango

Total weight loss/gain? Gained 12 pounds

Maternity Clothes? Yes, finally able to fill out those maternity dresses..that will probably be my wardrobe from now until baby is born.

Stretch Marks? I don't see any on my tummy.  Been doing coconut oil when I remember.

Sleep? Sleep could be better, getting harder and harder to flip sides and Harrison getting into our bed and having to sleep on my chest and rub my arm is making sleep difficult.

Best moment of this week?
Daddy taking Harrison out and about all day on Monday so I had some free time to relax and catch up on housework.

Worst moment of this week?  Feeling like my body is much further than 23 weeks along.  If I am in this much discomfort at 23 weeks, I am scared to know what's to come!

Miss Anything?  Wanting to eat, not having heartburn, pain free body.

Movement?  I feel baby kick and move all the time.  He/She is very active.

Food Cravings?
Tootsie rolls

Anything make you queasy or sick? I can still eat only very small meals.  The heartburn makes it very uncomfortable to eat.

Symptoms?  Heartburn, lots of pain in my pelvic/pubic bone area - I remember feeling this pain MUCH later on with Harrison.  Sometimes I notice I am already doing the preggo waddle. Everyone says its normal with subsequent pregnancies but I will talk to the doctor about it when I see her on Monday.

Have you started to show yet? Yes, but so far I think I have hidden it quite well, not on purpose but just with big shirts being the style its less noticeable.

Gender Predictions?  This week I think a girl.

Labor signs?  A few Braxton hicks a day.  Sometimes when baby is moving a lot or sometimes when I am dehydrated.

Belly Button in or out?  In but looks kind of weird.

Exercise?  Seriously chasing and playing with Harrison non-stop.  A picture of one of our nature walks from earlier this week.

Happy or Moody most of the time?  Pretty happy.  Today was a long day, Harrison did not nap and I felt like all I was doing was telling him "no" and re-directing his behavior.  Hearing yourself sound like a broken record alone is exhausting!

Looking forward to? Doctors appointment on Monday and learning of growth of baby.

Any irrational worries? Not eating enough, pre-term labor - every week is a milestone. :)

Bumpdate - Week 22

How far along?  22 Weeks and 5 days.  A little late again with this post.

Baby is the size of?  A spaghetti squash.  Baby is about 11 inches long and weighs almost 1 pound.

Total weight loss/gain?  I am terrible at remembering to weigh myself.

Maternity Clothes? Yes, its getting harder and harder to dress myself.  I will have to start wearing all my maternity dresses soon.  I wasn't quite large enough to fill them out yet.

Stretch Marks?
None yet but I did start rubbing coconut oil on my belly every day just to be safe.

Sleep?  Can't complain, I do get up to pee a few times in the middle of the night.

Best moment of this week? People have actually started noticing that I am pregnant and not just putting on a few pounds.  Three random people asked me this week.

Worst moment of this week?  Clancy trying to eat my cereal this morning while I was getting something from the fridge for Harrison, milk and granola EVERYWHERE. I cried.

Miss Anything?  Really miss my appetite.  I am never hungry and when I am I eat super small meals and then I am stuffed.

Movement?  Lots of movement.  I often wonder if baby ever sleeps!  He/she is kicking as I type right now.

Food Cravings? Milkshakes with coffee ice cream, nacho cheese.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Egg textures and brushing my teeth after breakfast.

Symptoms?  Heartburn has gotten really bad and is way up in the back of my throat.  Its very uncomfortable.  Still having pain in my lower tummy and pelvis.  Also having a weird chest pain, almost like I coughed too hard.  If that does not feel better soon, I will call the doctor.

Have you started to show yet?  Yes.  I think it had something to do with the shirt in this picture but I wore this outfit to my moms morning out and the girls all said all of a sudden they saw my belly.  The nail tech also asked if I was pregnant and I said "yes, you are the first person to actually notice" (or who actually said something).

Gender Predictions?  I kind of think a boy now.

Labor signs?  Some Braxton hicks - like one or two a day.  No labor signs please!

Belly Button in or out?  In

Exercise?  Playing and going on walks with Harrison.  He keeps me pretty active.

Happy or Moody most of the time?  Still pretty happy.

Looking forward to? This weekend and hanging out with Daddy, Harrison, and Clancy.

Any irrational worries? Going into pre-term labor and not having anyone here to cover Harrison.

Bumpdate - Week 21

How far along? 21 Weeks and 6 days.  I'm a little late with this post.
Baby is the size of? A carrot.  Baby is about 10.5 inches long and weighs only about 12 ounces.

Total weight loss/gain? Have not weighed myself recently.

Maternity Clothes? Yes, I made room and finally put them in my drawers and closet.  Even regular leggings and stretchy gym shorts are a little uncomfortable right now.

Stretch Marks? I don't see any

Sleep? Sleep has been ok.  I am having pelvic pain already so its tough to switch sides in the middle of the night.  I remember having this with Harrison but not sure if it was this early on.

Best moment of this week? Asking Harrison if baby was a boy or girl and he said "girl".  Then I asked if baby had a penis or a vagina and he said "gina".  Maybe he knows something we don't know.

Worst moment of this week? Feeling overwhelmed with lots to do.  I want to nest and purge but feel like there is never enough time.  I finally put the Christmas decorations away today.  Felt good to finally get them away.

Miss Anything?  Not really

Movement? Lots of movement.  Baby is very active in the evenings and when I am laying in bed.

Food Cravings? Sweets, chocolates with peanut butter.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Eating eggs, yucky smells, certain textures, brushing my teeth but only in the morning.

Symptoms?  The pelvic pain, round ligament pain.

Have you started to show yet?  Yes

Gender Predictions?  I was totally thinking a boy but now kind of thinking a girl.  It changes weekly!

Labor signs?  Not yet.  I had my first Braxton hicks a few nights ago when baby was really active.  Only lasted a few seconds. I had them quite a bit with Harrison.

Belly Button in or out?  In but getting shorter.

Exercise?  Hanging and walking with Harrison.  We have been taking nature walks lately since the weather is so beautiful.  He loves to look for acorns.

Happy or Moody most of the time?  Still pretty happy.  Just nervous how I will do it all with two kids when some days it feels I am barely hanging on with only one.

Looking forward to?  Having a moms morning tomorrow with some girlfriends, mani/pedis and brunch.

Any irrational worries?  Pre-term labor, birth defects, the usual.

Pregnancy Picture Comparison

I thought it would be fun to compare my pregnancy pictures at 20 weeks with Harrison and this baby.

Funny, even though at 20 weeks pregnant with Harrison I had gained almost 25 pounds at this point and with this one only 9 pounds, I look much bigger so far with this one.  What do you think?

Pregnant with Harrison on the left in each photo:

Bumpdate - Week 20

How far along?  20 Weeks and 3 days

Baby is the size of? A Banana

Total weight loss/gain? Gained 9 pounds.

Maternity Clothes?  A mix of both.

Stretch Marks? None so far

Sleep? Pretty good except for Harrison waking up at 5:30 am every morning demanding donuts and bananas.

Best moment of this week? Feeling lots of kicks especially at night when laying in bed.

Worst moment of this week? Harrison has hit full blown terrible twos, he is testing my patience this week for sure.

Miss Anything?  Not really missing anything right now.

Movement?  Feeling lots of movement.  I felt baby kick Harrison when he was leaning up against my belly reading a book.

Food Cravings?  Nothing too crazy.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Eggs.

Symptoms?  Heart burn started today.  Still have round ligament pain and hurts when I get up from laying down.

Have you started to show yet? Yep

Gender Predictions? I think a boy and after looking at the profile pics of the ultrasound I really think a boy.

Labor signs? No

Belly Button in or out? In

Exercise? Walks and chasing Harrison around

Happy or Moody most of the time? Pretty happy but do find myself getting frustrated with Harrison with his constant stubbornness and him wanting to fight me with everything we do these days.

Looking forward to? Next pre-natal appointment to see the babies growth

Any irrational worries?  Surprisingly none this week.

20 Week Ultrasound

Dear Second Baby,

Last week we had our 20 week anatomy ultrasound.  It was so exciting to see how far you have already developed but so crazy to know that you are still so small, only about half a pound!  So tiny!  During the scan the ultrasound tech was very thorough and examined all of your anatomy, organs, etc. and took measurements of you.  She explained to me each and every body part that she was looking at.  I saw your little arms and legs and you were all scrunched up like a little turkey.  The ultrasound tech said you were still measuring one week smaller than my due date.  After the ultrasound I was scheduled to meet with the doctor and while I was being escorted to the exam room I overheard the tech bring the doctor up to speed on my ultrasound.  I heard her say "the anatomy all looks good but the head is measuring a little small." Of course once I was in the exam room and hearing that your head was a little small I immediately took to Google because I started freaking about Zika.  That is one of the birth defects associated with it.  But once the doctor entered the room she assured me there was nothing to worry about and that they were just being nit-picky with my due date because I would be a scheduled C-section.  That helped put my mind at ease.

Once I was home I immediately made some hard boiled eggs and ever since I have been more conscience with my food choices in hopes to help you catch up in weight!

Here are pictures of you from the ultrasound.

I think those are your feet sticking up above your chest.
You are so beautiful already.  We can't wait to meet you.

Love Mommy
