Bumpdate - Week 19

How far along? 19 Weeks

Baby is the size of? A heirloom tomato

Total weight loss/gain? Gained 7 pounds

Maternity Clothes? A mix of maternity and regular looser shirts.

Stretch Marks? Not yet

Sleep? Still pretty good.

Best moment of this week?
Going for 20 week ultrasound and seeing baby on the big screen.  Baby was very active at points and looked like a little turkey all scrunched up.  Here is a sneak peek of the pictures the ultrasound tech gave me.  I will post a full re-cap later this week.

Worst moment of this week? Feeling very emotional with being away from family for the Christmas holiday.  I miss all our wonderful traditions as a family.

Miss Anything?  My appetite

Movement? Felt lots of movement this week and saw baby move on the ultrasound screen.

Food Cravings?  I wish I was craving food.  I forget to eat on most days because I am never hungry.

Anything make you queasy or sick?  Nothing is appetizing to me, today right after eating my breakfast and coffee I was brushing my teeth and I threw up my entire breakfast.  That was no fun at all.

Symptoms? Still pretty tired after long days.  Having some round ligament pain in my lower abdomen area.  Ultrasound showed everything was okay and doctor said it was perfectly normal with second pregnancies.

Have you started to show yet?  Yes, but to the common person they probably still wouldn't be able to tell.  I found a picture of me when I was 20 weeks pregnant with Harrison and I was about the same size as I am now.  I will post the comparison later this week.

Harrison saying "kindle on pwease" and me choosing to ignore him.  I must hear those words repeated 1,000 times a day.  I have to hide it from him.

Gender Predictions?  I feel like its another boy.  But with me feeling sick like this maybe a girl!

Labor signs? None

Belly Button in or out?  In

Exercise?  Trying to rest as much as I can because of the round ligament pain.  Its a bit uncomfortable and gets worse when I am active or on my feet a lot.

Happy or Moody most of the time?  This past week I was pretty moody and weepy.  The holiday blues kicked in full blast.

Looking forward to? Getting back to normalcy after the holidays.

Any irrational worries?  Not eating enough.  I know I am not and wonder if that's why baby is measuring a little on the smaller side.  There is still time for he/she to catch up!

Bumpdate - Week 18

How far along?  18 weeks.  Almost half-way through!

Baby is the size of? A bell pepper. Baby weighs about 7 ounces and is about 5.5 inches long.

Total weight loss/gain?  I forgot to weigh in today.

Maternity Clothes?  Yes, I wear a few maternity shirts and pants now.

Stretch Marks? None yet.

Sleep? Still fighting this cold but sleeping much better than before since the cough has gotten much better.

Best moment of this week? Spending time at Disney with family and watching Harrison take it all in.  Feeling lots of kicks/twinges in my belly!!

Worst moment of this week?  Feeling sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. :(

Miss Anything?  My appetite

Movement?  Felt lots of twinges in my tummy this week, I am believing those to be kicks!

Food Cravings?  Tea because I wasn't feeling well.

Anything make you queasy or sick? Certain things still make me gag.

Symptoms? Nothing really anymore.

Have you started to show yet? Yes

Gender Predictions? Gah I don't know.  When the doctors office called to go over my genetic screening to say that everything was negative the nurse said "and we know the sex of the baby" and I said "we don't want to know" but then I regretted those words, I do want to know so bad.

Labor signs?  No

Belly Button in or out? In

Exercise? Walking around the Disney parks, holy cow was that exhausting.

Happy or Moody most of the time?  Still pretty happy

Looking forward to? 20 week ultrasound

Any irrational worries? Nothing really this week.

Bumpdate - Week 17

How far along? 17 Weeks

Baby is the size of?
A turnip.  Baby weighs about 5 ounces and is about 5 inches long.

Total weight loss/gain? Did not weigh in this week.

Maternity Clothes? Very few items, pretty much just jeans.  I went through my three boxes of maternity clothes tonight and sorted them out by yes no and maybes and moved the yes and maybes to my closet for when I am ready.  I am still a little small to fill out any type of maternity clothes but certainly too big for regular pants and shorts.  Leggings and maternity jeans work out well for now!

Stretch Marks? None that I can see.

Sleep?  Sleep has been tough.  I toss and turn a lot and have been sick so I was up coughing A LOT.  I finally went to the doctor and got some medicine and take some cough syrup at night which helps a huge deal.

Best moment of this week?  There were a couple things:  1. I got the genetic screening results from the blood test and everything came back showing LOW RISK for down syndrome and all the major trisomy birth defects.  Praise the Lord.  The test is supposed to be 99.9 % accurate but keep those prayers coming for a healthy happy baby!

2. We went to Disney this weekend to meet up with David's sisters and family.  We took Harrison to a Disney park for the first time and he had a blast.  He was in absolute awe of everything.  He met some characters, went on some rides and loved all the shows.  He also had so much fun hanging out with his cousin Zeyvier.  They were like best friends.  After he met Pluto he kept repeating his name over and over again so we waited in line a second time to see him.  He gave him a high five and a scratch on the nose.
Harrison and cousin Z holding hands and walking to the bus
With Pluto the second time around

Worst moment of this week?  Just feeling really overwhelmed with making sure everything is ready for Christmas.  I am so far behind on my Christmas cards and have not even received them yet from Shutterfly.  I feel like my VISA card is going to spontaneously combust from all the swiping it has done this past week.

Miss Anything?   I really don't.

Movement?  Occasionally I think I feel something but nothing that I have been absolutely certain is a kick.

Food Cravings?  Still don't really have too much of an appetite.

Anything make you queasy or sick?  The gagging seems to have subsided this week.

Symptoms?  No real symptoms anymore now that we are into the second tri-mester.

Have you started to show yet?
  Yes

Harrison thinks the baby is my belly button

My life right now: Clancy sniffing my butt and Harrison sweeping you with a play broom.

Gender Predictions?  I was a little disappointed to see the fetal sex as "Not Reported" on the report that I received.  I am now regretting not checking that little box to find out!

Labor signs?  No

Belly Button in or out? In

Exercise? This one is getting funny.

Happy or Moody most of the time?
Still pretty happy.

Looking forward to?  Going back up to Disney tomorrow with Harrison and to go to Mickey's Christmas party.  He is going to love it.  Also looking forward to our 20 week ultrasound!

Any irrational worries?
Not eating healthy enough for baby.

Bumpdate - Week 16

How far along?  16 Weeks

Baby is the size of? An Avocado

Total weight loss/gain? Gained 5 pounds

Maternity Clothes? A few items.

Stretch Marks? Nothing yet

Sleep?  Coughing has been keeping me up at night.  Still waiting for this lingering cough to pass and if it doesn't soon, I will head to the doctors.

Best moment of this week? Spending lots of family time together.  Daddy taking Harrison out a lot on Sunday and Monday so I could get some work and personal tasks done like Christmas shopping!

Worst moment of this week? Still just feeling sick and tired.  I had a rough night last night with a sore throat but actually feel really good now.

Miss Anything?  Not really food wise.  I still really don't have an appetite.  I am hungry sometimes but nothing sounds appealing.  I also eat really small portions and feel very full which is very odd for me.  I am usually a big three meal eater.

Movement? I do feel like I feel kicks on occasion.

Food Cravings?  Had some chocolate cravings this week as well as some Publix salsa and nachos.  I remember craving Publix salsa when I was pregnant with Harrison too.

Anything make you queasy or sick?  Lots of things make me gag.  Food, onions, eggs, smells, toothpaste, I have gagged so hard that I have thrown up a few times this week.

Symptoms?  Just the no appetite and gagging thing.  I do not remember having this at all with Harrison.

Have you started to show yet? Yes but still a pretty small bump.

Gender Predictions?  I have thought a boy but now with how I am feeling maybe its a girl.

Labor signs? No thank you!

Belly Button in or out?  In still

Exercise?  Just chasing Mr. Harrison.  I have been too tired to exercise.

Happy or Moody most of the time? Still pretty happy, just overwhelmed with Christmas and lots to do still!

Looking forward to? Christmas and starting new fun traditions.

Any irrational worries?
Not eating enough and/or drinking enough water.

Weekend Update

Dear Second Baby,

I am sad that I don't have more time to blog to you more often than the weekly bump-dates.  Things just get so crazy busy that I forget and by the time I remember another week has gone by and its time for the weekly bump-date.

Thursday morning I had my genetic screening done at the doctors office where they took a few vials of blood and test for some of the main genetic disorders.  I did not have this test done with Harrison but it is something they recommend (and scare you into) once you are over the age of 35.  We also could have found out your gender and it about killed me to tell the nurse not to check the box to include that on the report.  I want to know so bad but I kind of don't!

Pictures of me before the appointment on Thursday

We have had a busy weekend so far.  Last night was the Stuart Christmas parade and it was so awesome.  Harrison had so much fun running around with the other kids before the parade and then once Daddy met us we all sat down and watched the parade.  He was in awe of all the floats and even lasted the two hours until Santa was the last float at 9 PM.  He fell asleep in the car as we were waiting to get out of the parking lot and when I got him out at home he was still clutching his lollipop and tootsie roll in his hand that he had gotten at the parade.

Harrison loved waving at everyone participating in the parade

This morning we woke up early and met some friends for breakfast with Santa.  We waited in line to see Santa and then as soon as it was our turn Harrison got so scared and started crying.  The photographer said she wished I could see the picture now as it was the best one she had taken all day.  I can't wait until that arrives in the mail.  After we saw Santa I took him to the park to run around and then it was still early so I took him to a store to get some more little trees to finish off my Christmas decorations.  Well the little stinker was falling asleep in the cart!  He has never ever done that before so I rushed to pay and leave and he slept the whole car ride home and then another 2 hours inside on my bed.  I guess all the festivities finally caught up to him.

I am loving all the Christmas cheer and we are definitely in full spirit here.  We have Hank the elf here watching so Harrison is trying to be on his best behavior for Santa.  We can't wait until you can join in on the crazy!

Can't wait to meet you,

Love Mommy

Bumpdate - Week 15

How far along?  15 Weeks

Baby is the size of? An apple

Total weight loss/gain?  Weigh in at doctors today would be ten pounds gained but that was after lunch with clothes and shoes on so not entirely accurate.

Maternity Clothes? A few items.  I bought a new pair of maternity jeans cheap from Burlington Coat Factory.  I only had one pair from when I was pregnant with Harrison and I was actually wearing them before I got pregnant again because they were so comfortable!

Stretch Marks? Nothing yet

Sleep?  This week was a little rough with fighting a cold and up coughing a lot at night.

Best moment of this week? Harrison calls my tummy baby all the time.  Had my check up today and got to hear babies heart beat.  Hopefully this video works!

Worst moment of this week? I can't really think of anything right now.  Maybe feeling a little sad to be missing family up north for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Miss Anything?  I really don't.

Movement?  No more feelings of movement.

Food Cravings?  Mashed potatoes and cranberry.  Sadly my favorite cranberry is straight out of the can with the can marks.  I love that stuff!

Anything make you queasy or sick? Brushing my teeth and certain smells.

Symptoms?  Tired, sore breasts, no real appetite still.

Have you started to show yet?  Yes, my little baby bump is visible in this outfit.  These are also the new maternity jeans I bought, they are really cute actually.  Oh and that little Santa on the door knob Harrison keeps moving to random doors in the house, he started out on his door, then the pantry, then the front door, and now my bathroom door.  I think he thinks its the elf on a shelf.

Gender Predictions?  I think a boy.  Most are saying girl.  We have the genetic screening test this week where we could find out but I think we decided we will wait until delivery to find out the gender.

Labor signs?  Nothing yet

Belly Button in or out? In

Exercise?  Chasing and playing with Harrison

Happy or Moody most of the time? Still pretty happy all the time

Looking forward to?  20 week ultrasound in four weeks!!

Any irrational worries? I was having this weird feeling like I wasn't pregnant anymore probably because I wasn't feeling kicks yet and because I was feeling better now that I am into the second tri-mester.  But my visit today at the doctor proved that wrong when I heard the heartbeat.

Bumpdate - Week 14

How far along?  14 weeks

Baby is the size of? A Lemon

Total weight loss/gain? Did not weigh myself yesterday

Maternity Clothes? I had to go to Orlando for a meeting for work and had to wear a black pair of maternity pants.  Going into the office yesterday brought back memories of being pregnant with Harrison because that's the last time I was really ever there, and how funny that the next time I went is when I was pregnant with you!

Stretch Marks?  Not yet

Sleep? Sleeping really well

Best moment of this week? Telling people at work about baby #2.  That is pretty much everyone that I needed to tell before people started finding out through other methods.

Worst moment of this week? Trying to figure out an outfit to wear to the meeting yesterday.  I was dreading it.  Most of my maternity clothes are summer clothes and not really fall/winter.

Miss Anything? Nothing really food or beverage wise.

Movement? Still have not really felt anything recently.

Food Cravings?  Wendy's - Yikes.  I also craved Wendy's when I was pregnant with Harrison.  I am not a real big fast food eater ever!

Anything make you queasy or sick?  Lots of things make me gag - seeing food in the sink or certain smells.

Symptoms? I started taking my pre-natal vitamins at night now because I think they may have been the culprit of my headaches and it seemed to work, although I have a headache today so I am trying to drink a ton of water.  Still a little tired but not nearly as much as I was a few weeks ago.

Have you started to show yet? Yes but still not really noticeable to anyone else.

Don't be distracted by the little person in the background walking around with a bucket on his head.  These made me crack up!

Gender Predictions? I think a boy still.  Some people are saying a girl.

Labor signs? No please

Belly Button in or out? Inny

Exercise? The weather has been beautiful here so Harrison and I went for a walk around the lake today and then stopped at the park so he could "play with his friends".

Happy or Moody most of the time? Definitely pretty happy.

Looking forward to?  Our appointment on Monday and can't wait to hear the heartbeat!

Any irrational worries?  Weather is cooler now so hopefully that means no more mosquitos to worry about.

Bumpdate - Week 13

How far along?  13 Weeks

Baby is the size of? A pea pod - about 3 inches long and weighs one once.

Total weight loss/gain? Did not weigh in today.

Maternity Clothes? Nothing technically maternity yet.

Stretch Marks? No

Sleep? Sleeping good so far.  Today was the first day I didn't nap in a long time.  This guy sure took a nice little nap today after playing at the park.

Best moment of this week? Harrison was playing with me on the couch and I told him to be careful of mommy because there was a baby in my belly.  He said "baby" and then lifted up my shirt to look and then stuck his finger in my belly button.

Worst moment of this week?
Lots of headaches this week.  Normally they come on about 1 PM in the afternoon every day.

Miss Anything?  Family back home, around the holidays make me sad.

Movement?  I swear I felt baby kick last night.  I then rubbed my tummy in that spot and felt it again.  It is totally possible.

Food Cravings?  Thanksgiving dinner.  I made a Turkey breast in the crock pot the other day and then made all the sides.  I ate it for days. :)

Anything make you queasy or sick? Coffee and brushing my teeth.  I threw up my coffee while I was brushing my teeth this morning.  Lots of gagging when I smell certain things.

Symptoms?  Tired and headaches.  I am so tired during the day but at night I am wide awake. Figures.

Have you started to show yet? Yes I have

Gender Predictions?  I really think its another boy.  Just a feeling I have.

Labor signs? Nope

Belly Button in or out? In

Exercise? Chasing Harrison around.

Happy or Moody most of the time? Pretty happy most of the time.

Looking forward to? Next pre-natal appointment in two weeks so we can hear the heartbeat!

Any irrational worries? None this week..just of baby not sleeping.  HA!  That is completely rational though!  :-p

Weekend Update

Dear Second Baby,

Not much new to report here, I am still feeling tired and nap on most days for a little bit with Harrison.  I have started to get things ready for you and wash all the baby stuff so that I won't have to do it when I am super huge and pregnant.  Today Daddy played with Harrison outside while I cleaned and finally organized his toys, put most of the baby toys away in boxes for you and threw out some toys that either Clancy had destroyed or that Harrison just really didn't need anymore.

This pregnancy has been so different than the first, I am so much more relaxed about this pregnancy as with the first I worried about EVERYTHING, all second time moms say that the second is so much different.

Would you believe that today was the first day that Daddy and I actually kicked around some names?!  Nothing set in stone yet but we eliminated some that I had on my possible list.  There are so many to chose from!  We still have not decided if we are going to find out what your gender is before delivery. A part of me does want to know because if you are a girl, we have NO girl clothes and I will want cute pink girl clothes.  But since we didn't know what Harrison was until delivery we certainly have plenty of gender neutral clothes!

Here's a little funny story of something your brother did to me.  I had been wanting to cozy up his little tee-pee tent for him since he never really used it.  I wanted to make it more of a reading nook. So on Friday Harrison and I went to Ross, we picked out a cozy new rug, I let him pick out his own pillows, he insisted on getting this fuzzy yellow pillow and would only hand it over to allow me to pay for it.

He literally helped me carry the rug out of the store and then into the house (the lady who let us cross in the parking lot was laughing hysterically watching Harrison help carry the rug to the car).  As soon as we got home he immediately started putting all his new pillows into his tee-pee and I told him we needed to put the rug down first.  We hung his spider lights that Grandma Margaret sent him and we all (Clancy too) went inside for about 5 minutes.  All of a sudden Harrison started getting angry and threw all the pillows out and he was banging on the tee-pee walls making it collapse.  I was so upset with him that I took it all down!  I later put it all back up again and he seems to like it now.  Daddy and I later joked that Harrison has the nicest pillows in the house (he really does - I don't keep nice pillows around because Clancy destroys them all).  He now likes his tent and even read some books in there today.  Hopefully you and Harrison will use this little space to hang out for years to come.

That is all for now.  We will be 13 weeks tomorrow!

Love you so much,

Love Mommy
